The Baobab is a sacred tree and a symbol of great longevity for the Dogon people. It is a sacred and magical tree for the Dogon. It integrates life, from birth to death.

This tree is a point of reference for the traveler, pastor and above all a place to meet, talk and rest after field work. The piece represents the artistic skill of the dogon blacksmiths.

The predominant method employed by the Dogons in creating objects like this is called“ lost wax casting ”, and each piece is unique.
